Stocking Processes
In addition to the usual make to order process whereby the exact quantity of parts is manufactured and then despatched to the customer, we also routinely make to two other stocking strategies:
Call off orders, whereby a larger quantity of parts is manufactured to be called off by the customer over an agreed period of time. At the end of the agreed period, any remaining stock is despatched to enable the order to be closed. This enables the economies of scale to be realised.
Kanban process whereby agreed products are stocked with defined minimum stock levels and reorder quantities and are available for immediate same day call off.
