Production
We have selected Hurco and Mazak as our manufacturing partners in the provision of high-end machining centres for precision part manufacture. All our machines are networked to our server and this provides for the rapid transfer of programs between the machines and the production office. It also allows for the secure and continuous back up of machine data files to secure off site locations.
For complex designs, offline programming is undertaken using Autodesk Feature CAM (with capability for simultaneous 5 axis machining) and OneCNC XR8, and then post processed to the allocated machine. However, for less complex designs, programming is undertaken by the machinist directly at the controls, using WinMax / Mazatrol. This is often done concurrently whilst the machine is busy manufacturing other parts.
We have standardised all our machine tool files in order to minimise on set up times. At the same time we have a proven program improvement process in place, which allows for constructive feedback from Machinists to be incorporated into optimised programmes. Such programmes are stored centrally and ready to be deployed to any machine based on the production schedule.
